Paladino has pledged that he would serve just one term as governor. If this successful Chief Executive Officer accomplishes any of what he says that he will as CEO of New York, and makes it possible for companies like Gazette columnist Bob Confer’s to successfully compete, perhaps he can keep his promise and go on to serve as CEO of the United States. Even now, perhaps is making mock plastic construction hats in red, white and blue with, “Rebuilding the USA with Carl Paladino” on the outside label, and on the inside label it says, MADE IN USA

While the orange hat’s outside sticker talked about rebuilding New York, the inside label, like too many of the labels on products in this great country of ours, said, MADE IN CHINA.
But the symbolism was uncanny. It was indicative of how much further New York has to rebuild on the road to establishing itself as a mechanism where its citizens have schools that can graduate them, and employment opportunities exist that, as Paladino put it, are more than, “... just one-way bus tickets to Raleigh and Phoenix.”
The orange hard hats with “Rebuilding NY with Carl Paladino” emblazoned on them are symbolic of those worn by workers who routinely make the heavy lifts. They were just that: symbolic.

Paladino stated that some say that our brightest days are behind us. He reiterated that he believes that our brightest days are ahead of us, and then talked about the reductions of taxes and program cuts that he would make.
Paladino paraphrased the oft used and oft-unrealized line from the movie network. That is, “If we have learned one thing tonight,” he said, “it’s New Yorkers are as mad as hell and aren’t going to take it anymore.”
However, just after 11 p.m., when the Associated Press reported that Paladino had won,
Cheap DC shoes hats he descended upon the stage before a jubilant crowd, and the rings appeared to have disappeared. Perhaps it was make-up but I could easily understand how the rings may have only appeared to be gone when bathed in the bright light of his rare and glowing smile.
At 5:30 p.m. that day, during the broadcast of Beach and Company on WBEN News Radio 930, during the newsbreak, Sandy and I saw Paladino on the muted television monitor and we could not help but notice the very dark rings under his eyes. I reminded Sandy of how hard Paladino had worked over the last few months, and how he had earned those rings.
I know how he feels. It was an honor for me to be in the front row of Paladino’s historic moment; but I was not there to cheer Paladino on. As a columnist, I have the luxury to write about the feel, as well as the facts, of an event.
WIVB-TV’s Rich Newberg said it best during his acceptance speech of his induction into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Newberg commented about his many years in reporting the news, and those many newsmakers upon which he reported. As with Paladino’s victory speech, I was at the Broadcaster’s dinner when Newberg made his remark, stating that, “It has been a real honor having a front row seat on history.”

Like the sports paraphernalia that touts the winning team’s championship directly after the final gun of the final game, Paladino’s hats were made ahead of time and the two labels that they bore, one on the outside and the other on the inside, told the whole story. The outside one said, “Rebuilding NY with Carl Paladino,” and I’ll get to the inside label in a moment. It tells why.
